A respected Southern California law firm with principal offices in Santa Barbara and Costa Mesa is seeking a Full-Time Licensed California Associate Attorney to join its Santa Barbara office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator—whether newly licensed or with up to two years of experience—who is looking to develop practical skills across various stages of litigation in a supportive, in-person office environment. Location
Duties
Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, and orders Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related court documents Attend and manage hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings Communicate with clients and supervising attorneys to gather information and provide sound legal advice Conduct thorough legal research and analysis of case law, statutes, and regulations Organize and manage complex documentation for multidistrict and other intricate litigation matters Communicate effectively and persuasively with regulatory agencies, courts, and opposing counsel Handle complex problems using initiative, creativity, and sound judgment Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team Requirements
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California 1–2 years of litigation experience preferred (recent graduates encouraged to apply) Strong ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines Commitment to maintaining a high standard of client service Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Certifications
Active Bar membership in California (required) Skills
