What to Expect
As a
Lead Validation Engineer
focusing on
manufacturing reliability of Tesla Energy & Charging products , you will play a key role in
ensuring the reliability designed into Tesla's industrial and residential products is maintained throughout product manufacturing . This role follows the reliability lifecycle of the product from concept to design, development, testing/analysis, manufacturing, and field operation to design-in, confirm, and grow exceptional reliability at every stage. You will partner with global reliability test partners to streamline environmental stress screening and ongoing reliability testing programs across Energy & Charging products. What You'll Do
Communicate and streamline reliability program requirements for environmental stress screening and ongoing reliability testing globally Determine component/system level test solutions that optimize product reliability and durability, FMEA-based risk mitigations, test team resources, and program schedules Work closely with Reliability, Design, and Manufacturing teams to validate manufacturing reliability results and suggest design and/or process improvements based on failure root cause analysis Communicate reliability validation plans for components and subsystems, providing guidance on sample size and test durations Drive reliability assessments in program reviews and communicate risks across the product lifecycle Influence supplier selection for higher reliability and provide guidance on reliability requirements and demonstrations Provide reliability design guidelines and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement Address complex questions on global product manufacturing reliability performance across Energy & Charging products What You'll Bring
Strong communication skills and experience leading cross-functional teams Solid Mechanical or Electrical Engineering fundamentals 3-10 years of hands-on experience in hardware design, validation, testing, and reliability testing Understanding of accelerated testing methods, physics of failure, and failure mechanisms Knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as microscopy, SEM, X-ray, etc. Proficiency in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis Knowledge of manufacturing engineering fundamentals Familiarity with reliability warranty analysis and prediction methods Experience with complex electronic and mechanical systems Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of industry experience in reliability engineering Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is $128,000 - $258,000 annually, plus bonuses and stock awards. Compensation may vary based on experience and location.
