What to Expect
As a Linux Kernel Engineer within the AI Embedded OS team, you will be a key contributor to the platform software powering one of the most advanced AI platforms supporting autonomy for cars, humanoid robots, and beyond. You will collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to develop and deploy embedded operating system features that enable AI inference at scale. Your work will influence current and future generations of AI silicon and platforms. What You'll Do
Pre/Post-silicon Linux bring-up and mass production of the next-generation AI chip Develop and maintain Linux device drivers for AI inference hardware accelerators, camera capture, ISP (Image Signal Processors), GPU, Ethernet, UFS, and PCIe Port and maintain Linux Kernel for the custom AI system-on-chip and apply preempt RT patches Define the hardware-software interactions for our next-generation fully autonomous car platform, humanoid robots, and expanding AI inference use cases Develop and bring-up the system software stack that runs on the AI platform and interacts with various sensors in cars and robots Develop features and system software tools to enhance the functionality, performance, and power efficiency of AI platforms Write well-structured, testable, efficient, and maintainable code Integrate software components into a fully functional system Require 3+ years of experience developing Linux device drivers for devices like CSI, ISP, Ethernet, GPU, PCIe, or flash devices such as UFS, eMMC, NVMe
What You'll Bring
Engineering degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience Strong Linux Kernel/Driver/RTOS experience preferred Experience with board or SoC bring-up for ARM64, RISC-V, or x86 platforms Solid C programming skills and experience with embedded Linux programming Good software practices such as code review, clean coding, and documentation Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills Experience with performance analysis and tracing tools like perf and ftrace Experience with JTAG for bring-up, profiling, or debugging Experience with pre-silicon emulation/simulation environments Desirable: experience with V4L2, RDMA, Realtime-Linux
