What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Wireless Bluetooth Software Development Engineer for the Wireless Software team to develop best-in-class telematics solutions. The role involves design and development of Bluetooth software for next-generation telematics systems across Tesla vehicle platforms (S, 3, X, Y, and CyberTruck) and new feature development on existing products. The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams and SoC vendors. The ability to work independently and creatively solve challenging design problems is of paramount importance. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tight timing constraints. What You'll Do Prepare product and system requirements for Bluetooth SoC vendors based on Tesla's next-generation platform requirements. Define the software delivery and validation plans with vendors to meet Tesla program timelines. Bring up Bluetooth subsystem on new platforms along with Wireless Hardware teams. Integrate Bluetooth connectivity stack provided by SoC vendors into Tesla's operating system. Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluation of Tesla's next-generation wireless platforms. Develop new features in well-organized, efficient, and scalable C++ code. Develop telemetry and analytics platforms for data collection, analysis, and visualization from Tesla fleet. Conduct various software-driven validations to ensure wireless connectivity performance of Tesla fleet. Root-cause issues reported from different test scenarios and customers. Implement continuous improvements and best practices within the team and larger organization.

What You'll Bring Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional expertise. Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with software design and testing on Bluetooth-based products. Strong coding skills and hands-on experience in C/C++ programming. Excellent understanding of Linux kernel, boot chain, drivers, and Bluetooth stack including A2DP, HFP, and BLE audio. Prior work experience on open-source Bluetooth stacks, such as Bluez, is a big plus. Proficiency with Perl/Python, Shell scripts is a plus. Experience with over-the-air sniffers such as Frontline or Ellisys is a plus.

Expected Compensation: $133,440 - $292,800 annually plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay may vary depending on individual factors, market location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
