Description

DermCare Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead and oversee all procurement and purchasing operations across the organization. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating key contracts, optimizing the supply chain, and supervising the purchasing team (including the Purchasing Coordinator). The Purchasing Manager will also analyze spending, improve procurement processes, implement sourcing strategies, and drive cost-saving initiatives to support the company's growth and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the company's purchasing function, including strategy, operations, process improvement, and personnel oversight. Develop and manage supplier/vendor relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate high-value contracts, vendor terms, and strategic sourcing agreements for clinical, administrative, and capital goods. Monitor, analyze, and report procurement KPIs, including cost savings, vendor performance, and purchase cycle times. Ensure company-wide purchasing policies and procedures are current, compliant, and consistently followed. Supervise and mentor the Purchasing Coordinator and other purchasing support staff. Drive continuous improvement in procurement operations including automation, vendor evaluation, and centralized sourcing. Oversee the bid and RFP process for large or recurring procurement needs. Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Clinical Operations, and IT to resolve purchasing issues and align budgets. Maintain a centralized vendor database, supplier catalogs, and pricing files. Lead the implementation and training of procurement systems or modules. Participate in audits, budgeting activities, and inventory management initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field required; master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) a plus. Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience; healthcare or multi-site operational experience preferred. Supervisory Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports. Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), ERP/procurement systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Coupa). Knowledge:

Strong understanding of the Procure-to-Pay cycle, contract management, sourcing, and cost-reduction strategies. Other:

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment; exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Strong analytical acumen and financial literacy. Ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives. Comfortable collaborating with clinical leadership, finance, and external vendors. Skilled in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions. High level of integrity and attention to detail.
