Under general supervision, the Job Developer/Transition Coach performs duties related to grant-funded job training, placement, and school-to-work transition programs. The role involves assisting students with exceptional needs in transitioning from school to employment, working closely with instructors and vocational staff. Key Responsibilities
Job Development
Develop pre-vocational and job sites, and community contacts Screen and assess job-ready workers Assist employers in creating opportunities and defining job tasks Maintain communication with employers and employees Coaching
Reinforce training skills and monitor student performance Provide instruction on work behaviors, safety, and community skills Develop independence, mobility, and self-esteem in students Recordkeeping and Communication
Maintain employment reports and student files Assist students with employment documents Participate in meetings and workshops Qualifications
Knowledge of Workability/TPP programs and job development principles Understanding of employability barriers for disabled youth Strong organization and communication skills Ability to work with students with special needs and maintain confidentiality Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with teenagers Own transportation and willingness to travel between sites Work Conditions
Primarily classroom and office environment; may involve lifting and assisting students with physical disabilities. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
