What to Expect

Tesla's Silicon Development Group is looking for a Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Engineer. In this position, you will work with the team to develop next generation SOCs and car computers for the self-driving system in Tesla's vehicles. You will also work on Tesla's custom supercomputer platform Dojo, which

involves

extraordinary signal integrity, power integrity and power supply module design challenges. You will

be responsible for

vehicle computer high-speed serial interface and memory interface signal integrity design/validation, including

FSD

computer, camera, connectors, cables, etc. You will also

be responsible for

package level and system level signal integrity, power integrity analysis and validation. What You'll Do

Design SOC package, PCB and system with optimized power integrity and signal integrity

Work with cross functional team and vendors on high-speed interconnect design, including advanced packaging, connector, socket, cable,

etc.

Work with power supply design engineers and vendors to

bring up

power supply modules and characterize the electrical performance

Work with package and PCB physical design team on high-speed interfaces and power integrity layout optimization

Develop and execute test plans to

validate

system level and

component

level signal and power integrity, including interconnect channel measurement, SerDes validation/equalization optimization, noise ripple measurement,

etc.

What You'll Bring

Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience

R

elevant product design and validation experience

Solid understanding of system and package level SI and PI, electromagnetic theory

Prior design and SI/PI modeling experience with high-speed serial interfaces, memory interfaces, and power integrity analysis

Familiar with lab equipment, such as oscilloscope, VNA, BERT scope,

etc.

Experience with lab correlation and validation of simulation results

Familiar with power supply circuit design and validation is a plus

Strong hands-on skills in data analysis, debugging and lab measurement

Scripting in MATLAB or Python is a plus

Good communication

skills and self-motivated

$120,000 - $318,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
