Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Director of Sales & Field Operations
to lead group sales, drive market expansion, and oversee grassroots field marketing for our leading amusement and family entertainment destination. This hybrid leadership role is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, increasing group bookings, enhancing brand visibility in the community, and managing a field operations team that amplifies guest engagement and local awareness.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will blend sales strategy with on-the-ground execution, ensuring the park achieves consistent revenue growth through group sales, strategic outreach, and field team effectiveness.
Core Responsibilities:
Group Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies to attract group events including:
Corporate outings MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) School field trips & educational groups Religious & faith-based organizations Youth programs, sports teams, and military units
Build and manage a sales pipeline of B2B opportunities; convert leads into bookings through relationship-building and customized proposals. Develop group packages that align with attraction offerings, seasonal promotions, and guest capacity goals.
Field Operations & Brand Presence Lead a team of brand ambassadors responsible for in-market collateral distribution, field outreach, and grassroots visibility. Design and manage efficient distribution routes for flyers, brochures, and event materials in high-traffic zones (malls, schools, community centers, etc.). Conduct regular field audits to ensure brand consistency, proper placement of marketing materials, and adherence to brand standards. Establish performance benchmarks for field teams including lead targets, distribution KPIs, and incentive programs.
Business Development & Community Engagement Represent the park at trade shows, conventions, chamber events, tourism expos, and industry networking functions. Cultivate partnerships with local schools, corporations, churches, hotels, and tourism bureaus to drive repeat group bookings. Maintain a strong presence in the community by attending local events and fostering long-term business relationships.
Marketing & Campaign Support Partner with internal marketing and creative teams to align sales objectives with promotional campaigns and digital marketing efforts. Contribute to the development of group sales materials, email campaigns, event signage, and social media initiatives. Coordinate with external agencies (e.g., PR firms) to ensure B2B/B2C campaigns are accurate, engaging, and brand-aligned.
Reporting, Analytics & Budget Oversight Utilize CRM and analytics tools to track leads, conversion rates, and ROI on field marketing efforts. Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and actionable insights for executive leadership. Manage the sales and field marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and measurable returns.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required: 5-7+ years of experience in group sales, field marketing, or business development within an amusement park, attraction, hospitality, or tourism setting. Demonstrated success in driving revenue through strategic partnerships and grassroots outreach. Strong leadership skills with experience managing distributed or field-based teams. Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and data-driven reporting. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings, for events and site tours.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field. Existing relationships with corporate, educational, or tourism networks. Bilingual English and Spanish Knowledge of local and regional event planning cycles and group travel trends.
