Summary/Objective
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory operations within Wholesale. This role ensures that inventory levels are maintained to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock and optimizing inventory turnover. The Inventory Manager will work closely with Branch Managers, buyers, suppliers, warehouse staff, and other departments to ensure efficient inventory management and accurate record-keeping.
Essential Functions Develop and implement inventory control systems and practices to ensure efficient inventory management. Maintain P21 System Settings as it relates to Inventory Replenishments. Answer technical system questions by branch and other leadership. Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any discrepancies. Analyze inventory data to forecast future inventory needs and adjust stock levels accordingly. Train buyers on inventory management procedures and best practices. Generate and maintain detailed inventory reports for management review. Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts. Collaborate with other departments to integrate inventory management with overall company operations. Build Relationships with key suppliers to support profitable growth.
Competencies Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within the electrical supply industry. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations. Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a changing environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Supervisory Responsibility
The Regional Inventory Manager will have no direct reports.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
A moderate amount of travel out of the Houston area as well as overnight travel may be expected.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Minimum 5 years of inventory and electrical distribution experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred Certification in inventory management or supply chain management (e.g. APICS, CPIM) preferred High School Diploma required
