IT Desktop Support Engineer (Contractor)

We are seeking one Desktop Support Technician (Contractor) to provide Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) support at our San Jose office in California. Job Description Solid experience with Windows platform support and relevant troubleshooting. Basic Linux (Ubuntu, macOS) operation and troubleshooting. Experience with Cisco IP phone and Video Conference system maintenance. Solid knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, DHCP protocols. Solid experience with MS Office365 support. Experience in antivirus/malware incidents cleanup on Windows platform. Good communication skills and customer-oriented approach. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Ability to support users remotely over the phone. Positive working attitude and being a committed team player. Provide basic user training on IT fundamental services. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and well-organized. Knowledge of Remedy Incident Management system is a plus. Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus. Requirements Coordinate with IT groups in the US and Taiwan (HQ) for Windows environment support. Configure and maintain printer/fax/copier and Video conference equipment. Follow up on OA/RD tickets/requests and escalate urgent incidents as needed. Perform routine desktop/laptop hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, including virus/malicious program cleanup. Maintain IT hardware inventory (laptops/desktops, spare parts). Participate actively in monthly local OA ticket review meetings. Escalate unresolved issues to the local IT manager following guidelines.
