Skyworks' Andover, MA design center is seeking an experienced Layout Designer responsible for the layout of analog integrated circuits, utilizing commercial/standard bulk SOI and CMOS technologies in accordance with design rules. Our Andover MA design center has leading R&D and product development capabilities. Skyworks is a key player in helping people connect across the globe. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative team at the forefront of semiconductor design, tackling challenges to create cutting-edge integrated circuit solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely and collaborate with design engineers to create integrated circuit layouts. Perform custom IC mask/layout design for 40/22nm analog, RF, and mixed/signal circuits. Perform layout from scratch, modify existing layouts, create block-level floorplans, and work within the constraints of higher-level floorplans. Take ownership of blocks to ensure they meet specifications. Maintain effective communication with design engineers. Develop methods to improve efficiency in layout methodology and verification processes. Contribute to the overall success of the team by actively participating in design review sessions, team meetings, providing valuable insights, and maintaining effective communication within the team from a layout perspective. This position requires remote interfacing with domestic and international design engineering and layout teams across multiple design centers in different time zones. Desired Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is a plus. Minimum 3+ years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits, including the ability to place and route active and passive devices. Ability to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design. Good understanding of semiconductor processes and structures, such as CMOS FETs, capacitors, resistors, etc. Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and SkillCAD tools. Proven ability to interpret DRC, ERC, LVS, ANTENNA using Calibre verification tools and read electrical schematics and netlists. Top-level integration experience is preferred. The typical base pay range for this role in the U.S. is USD $89,100 - $172,100 per year. Starting pay depends on experience, skills, education, market demands, job duties, and location.
