Job Details
The
Director of National Accounts
plays a critical role in the success of the organization. They manage the relationship aspect of top volume accounts and their buyers and lead the company's involvement with various business and community functions, including industry organizations and charities which partner with key chain customers.
This position can be based in Kent, WA or Wilsonville OR.
Primary Responsibilities
Create, set, and accomplish monthly programs to attain customer and corporate goals to include volume, profit, distribution, and promotional activity.
Organize the structure and utilization of all assigned supervisory areas to ensure that all positions are appropriately staffed to achieve company and supplier needs
Control responsibilities by taking the actions necessary to ensure that assigned personnel achieve results that conform to company and supplier plans
Develop reporting that helps attain supplier and corporate goals to include volume, profit and distribution activities
Know and Analyze beverage industry brands, the beverage distribution industry and retail trade
Serve as information resource for and conduit between the field and senior management to include providing information on supplier, market, sales and merchandising results to include recommendations to strengthen sales for supplier brands
Establish vertical call coverage goals for assigned accounts and lead the company's relationship with top-volume chain accounts, their buyers and their senior managements.
Conduct meetings as needed to effectively communicate objectives, programs, strategies, policies and procedures to users of the sales reporting tool
Maintain and develop positive business relationships with suppliers, including providing them with requested business reviews and information
Create, manage and adhere to monthly, quarterly and annual sales and expense budgets
Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others you come into contact with through your job.
Key Competencies:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with an AS400 system
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers
Knowledge of budgetary processes and influence on business objectives
Ability to build presentations and develop business reviews utilizing standard computer software programs
Demonstrate flexibility in overcoming problems and personalities
Demonstrate leadership; Ability to focus and work cross functionally across many levels of organization
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to understand Quantity Discount pricing and use IRI data to create selling stories to realize pricing opportunities at retail.
Physical Requirements:
Lift/Carry and Push/Pull up to 50 lbs.
Bend/Stoop/Crouch/Squat
Use arms/wrists/hands/grasp
Use of industry tools: hand truck, six-wheeler, manual pallet jack, box cutter
Ability to travel throughout the day for visits to customer accounts
Work indoors with frequently walking in customer accounts
People Management
This position will manage a diverse group of employees from individual contributors to middle management people leaders
Work Environment
Working indoors with occasional outdoor work. This includes working within customer accounts.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, days/hours of work vary, and may include weekends
Travel
Travel is required to work as business needs demand. This candidate may expect travelling up to 40% of the time (two nights per week outside the home territory).
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license and auto insurance required
Minimum of five (5) years previous beverage industry sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling relevant beverage category (Beer, NA Beverage, Wine and/or Spirits)
Experience selling to assigned chain accounts (ie Safeway, Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc)
Prior people-management experience
Demonstrated experience working with AC Nielsen, IRI or other third-party syndicated data provider
Compensation
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
Hired applicants may be eligible for incentives/bonuses/annual bonuses.
