Addison Group is partnering with a well-established company in the Landover area to hire a Collections Specialist. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in collections and a collaborative mindset. Our client is seeking support due to increased volume and departmental leave, with long-term potential for the right individual. $27/hr Type: Contract-to-Hire Job Description: The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and resolving outstanding customer balances, working with internal teams to release accounts, and maintaining financial accuracy across accounts. The role includes a strong emphasis on Excel reporting and cross-departmental coordination. Key Responsibilities: Make outbound commercial collection calls to follow up on outstanding payments Monitor and manage a high volume of customer accounts Coordinate account releases once payment arrangements are met Assist with reporting and data analysis using Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications teams as needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records Qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience in collections Proficient in Microsoft Excel (must know Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to handle large workloads with a high level of accuracy Previous exposure to AR or cash applications is a plus Team-oriented and able to work effectively with others Additional Details: Hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM
