Job Title: SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager

Compensation: $150K -$180K base salary DOE, discretionary bonus, and full benefits package

Location: In-Office 2-3 days onsite in Downtown Chicago, WFH 2-3 days

Overview

Lead external reporting and technical accounting for a complex, multi-entity organization with accelerated filing requirements and ongoing expansion. Full ownership of quarterly and annual filings, technical research, and documentation. High visibility to senior finance leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, footnotes, and supporting schedules
  • Manage XBRL tagging and accuracy
  • Research and document technical matters including ASC 606, ASC 842, and other emerging topics
  • Draft technical memos and internal accounting policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews and the annual audit
  • Support close and consolidation activities tied to external reporting
  • Maintain SOX 404 controls related to reporting and technical accounting
  • Partner with internal teams on accounting impacts of contracts, transactions, and initiatives
  • Monitor new standards and implement required updates

Required Background:

  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Acceptable profiles: Public accounting with SEC registrant exposure, Public/private mix with recent SEC reporting experience
  • CPA required or actively pursuing
  • Hands-on involvement with 10-Ks and 10-Qs
  • Direct ASC 606 and ASC 842 experience
  • Strong US GAAP, PCAOB, and SOX 404 familiarity
  • Experience operating in multi-entity or complex reporting environments

Preferred Background:

  • Exposure to large-scale or growth-oriented companies
  • Experience with global or multi-location structures
  • ERP experience with major platforms
  • Background supporting M&A or integration activity
  • Experience with lease portfolios of meaningful volume
