Director Supply Chain – Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield, OH
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Supply Chain, the Director provides leadership and support to the assigned site(s) with an emphasis on operational improvement, supply expense cost and savings management, and accountability for all supply/services spend and resulting financial outcomes. The incumbent serves as the primary liaison for consolidated supply chain functions, manages human resources outcomes, and meets supply chain measures of success related to spend, inventory, HR, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all activities of the Supply Chain Department(s), including personnel management, vendor management, and leading market hospital and department-level process improvement initiatives.
Manage spend, including facility department operating and capital budgets; medical/non‑medical supplies and all purchased services; support capital equipment programs; perform regular supply spend and utilization analysis; conduct cost‑accounting and variance analysis; identify and implement cost‑savings opportunities.
Drive contract compliance through engagement with physicians and other key stakeholders; participate actively in the Clinical Integration Program.
Foster a customer‑service environment; develop subordinate team members for customer‑focused service delivery; advance collaboration between Supply Chain and Nursing/Ancillary departments.
Serve as primary point of contact with BSMH Consolidated Supply Chain services to ensure supply chain services meet end‑user requirements and local facility compliance.
Deliver presentations to administration or regional leadership on efficiencies, inventory improvement, contract compliance, and savings initiatives.
Oversee time and labor applications and work schedules to meet facility productivity metrics.
Conduct regular departmental staff meetings and safety huddles; minimize staff turnover through continuous engagement; address personnel conflicts proactively.
Inspect workplace for safety concerns and remediate issues.
Attend/lead meetings and committees in the absence of senior leaders as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Healthcare Administration.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, including 2 years in a managerial role, or an advanced degree with equivalent business experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead through periods of change, effectively managing departments.
Objectivity in decision making and fact‑based analysis.
Cooperative management style that eliminates boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient, and quality service.
Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate Degree (Master’s) – MHA or MBA.
Certified Materials and Resources Professional (CMRP).
Supply Chain leadership experience in an acute healthcare platform.
