What We Need We’re hiring a Superintendent to manage commercial interior sites for clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Ideal candidates will have experience managing complex interior job sites with extremely high safety, communication, and client service standards. A thoughtful, collaborative, creative mindset is critical for this role.
Role & Responsibilities
Participate in kickoff meeting with Team Lead & team and understand project financial and relationship goals
Host field kickoff meeting with all trade partners & PMs
Manage day to day trade partner/vendor relationships
Manage relationship between site and building management/owner
Participate in closeout meeting and provide feedback on trade partner
Host trade partner gathering for closeout
Participate in client interviews, pitch for new projects, and participate in pitch preparations
Oversee Superintendent I's on their projects and provide mentorship, resources, and support
Manage one large project and oversee up to two others with Superintendent I's assigned to those projects.
Oversee Laborers on staff as assigned.
Technical Requirements
Review construction documents & drawings and fully understand critical path items
Site setup - ensure appropriate Redmond branding, safety and wayfinding signage, and PPE is available at all times
Create schedule with PMs - MS Project & Procore
Create 3 week lookaheads in Procore
Manage schedule and document schedule claims
Understand labor & GR allocation and track accordingly with PMs
Manage tickets and on-site CO documentation
Fully vet field claims with PM & trade partner before signing tickets
Manage site logistics and deliveries
Draft field RFIs and submit to PMs
Manage progress photos in Procore or Sway
Complete daily logs in Procore
Complete weekly reports in Procore
Host weekly toolbox talk on site with all trade partner & document in Procore
Host weekly foreman meeting on site to review 3 week and critical items
On-site safety control with guidance/support from Safety Director
Safety training - manage safety documentation and first responder steps on site, with guidance/support from Safety Director
Communicate with Warehouse for site deliveries
Coordinate, update & complete punch list
What You'll Bring
10–15 years of experience as a commercial interior Superintendent
Proven ability to manage highly detailed corporate interior projects
Professional communication skills with project partners and clients
Experience with high-rise commercial tenant improvement work (required)
Ability to identify potential issues during preconstruction and early project stages, and resolve them collaboratively, proactively, and openly
Comfortable pitching and interviewing for new client work
Experience managing other Superintendents on projects
Ability to provide mentorship and support to junior team members
