Head of Digital Private Equity Firm – Portfolio: Retail & Fashion (10 Companies) Location: Flexible / Hybrid About the Role The Head of Digital is the senior‑most digital leader across a portfolio of 10 retail and fashion brands. This executive is responsible for architecting and executing a unified digital vision that accelerates growth, modernizes operations, and maximizes enterprise value ahead of exit events.

This role partners directly with portfolio company CEOs, CMOs, CTOs, and the PE Operating Partner team to drive measurable improvements in digital performance, customer experience, and omnichannel profitability.

This is a high‑leverage, high‑visibility role for a digital operator who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution, influence without authority, and deliver ROI across diverse business models.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio‑Level Digital Leadership

Build and own the digital transformation roadmap across 10 retail and fashion portfolio companies.

Establish shared digital standards, KPIs, and operating frameworks to drive consistency and scale.

Identify cross‑portfolio synergies in technology, data, media buying, and customer experience.

E‑Commerce & Omnichannel Growth

Oversee e‑commerce strategy, site performance, conversion optimization, and digital merchandising.

Partner with retail leadership to integrate digital and physical experiences (BOPIS, clientele, loyalty, CRM).

Drive revenue growth through performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, and digital acquisition.

Digital Product & Technology Strategy

Evaluate and optimize the digital tech stack across the portfolio (CMS, CDP, CRM, ESP, analytics, martech).

Lead platform modernization initiatives, including replatforming, data unification, and automation.

Ensure each brand has the right digital infrastructure to scale efficiently.

Data, Analytics & Customer Insights

Build a unified measurement framework across all brands.

Implement advanced analytics, attribution modeling, and customer segmentation.

Translate insights into actionable strategies that improve LTV, CAC efficiency, and retention.

Brand, Content & Experience

Elevate digital brand expression across web, social, mobile, and emerging channels.

Oversee content strategy, UX/UI standards, and creative performance optimization.

Ensure each brand delivers a premium, consistent, and conversion‑driving digital experience.

Operational Excellence & Value Creation

Partner with the PE Operating Partner team to define value‑creation initiatives and track impact.

Lead digital due diligence for new acquisitions.

Prepare digital transformation narratives and KPIs for board meetings and exit processes.

Qualifications

MBA

15+ years of digital leadership experience across retail, fashion, consumer, or DTC.

Proven success scaling e‑commerce and omnichannel businesses.

Deep expertise in martech, analytics, digital product, and performance marketing.

Experience influencing senior executives across multiple business units or portfolio companies.

Strong operator mindset: able to diagnose, prioritize, and execute at speed.

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and change‑leadership skills.

PE or high‑growth environment experience strongly preferred.
