The Director of Operations is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for coaching and guiding
Manufacturing and Distribution Center (DC)
Leaders to plan, monitor, and optimize the day‑to‑day global operation of our client's
four manufacturing facilities and warehouses.
This critical role holds both operational and strategic accountability for production, operations, and supply chain management across multiple sites. The ideal candidate is a proactive contributor with a strong focus on efficiency, possessing a high sense of urgency in achieving organizational goals. We seek an excellent hands‑on leader with a strong desire to work directly with the team. The individual must be extremely competent, organized, and capable of holding accountability across various business areas to ensure long‑term, sustainable growth. This role reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for making high‑level decisions for planning, executing, and overseeing operational activities and setting strategic goals to ensure company‑wide operations are maintained at an optimal level.
About the Role The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all four Distribution Centers as well as the entire Supply Chain function.
Responsibilities
Communicate with the CEO on a daily basis to openly discuss and address issues impacting global operations.
Provide necessary buy‑in and input for all corporate strategic planning activities.
Revise, formulate, and promote the consistent implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Manage complex relationships and agreements with both internal DC Leaders/team members and external partners/vendors.
Review annual budgets and adjust as needed to ensure operational effectiveness and increase profitability.
Regularly evaluate and improve the efficiency of operational processes and procedures to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Actively assist with continuous improvement initiatives and overall process enhancements.
Support quality management initiatives and provide effective customer support when appropriate.
Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting key operational data and metrics.
Supervise all DC Leaders, providing consistent coaching and constructive feedback.
Ensure that all operations run with legality and conformity to established industry regulations.
Complete tasks that may be assigned by the CEO to support executive goals.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field (required minimum).
Experience (Required): Proven 8+ years of experience as a Director of Operations in a manufacturing setting or equivalent senior position.
Proven 8+ years of experience managing people and multi‑site teams.
Required Skills
Leadership: Excellent organizational and leadership abilities; must demonstrate diplomacy and fairness in decision‑making and problem‑solving.
Industry Knowledge: In‑depth knowledge of light‑manufacturing, warehouse, and supply‑chain functions and principles, including industry legal rules and guidelines.
Communication: Outstanding communication and people skills.
Technical: Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics; strong computer skills, including MS Office.
Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic planning, project management, and high‑level decision‑making competence required.
Traits: Results‑driven, strong can‑do attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
