Overview BASIS DC is accepting applications for Future College Counselor Opportunities for the 2026–2027 School Year. In this full‑time role, you will teach a daily college counseling workshop to 12th graders, complete college counseling reports, serve as Senior Research Project coordinator, organize college admissions visits each fall, conduct family college counseling evenings, meet one‑on‑one with 9th and 10th graders during the academic year, instruct students on completing college admissions and financial aid applications, obtain recommendations, and perform additional responsibilities as needed. Additionally, you will develop new program ideas, co‑lead college information evening sessions, and develop and maintain college planning and career assessment and readiness software such as Naviance.

Job Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and previous applicable experience.

A valid fingerprint clearance and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.

Preferred

A master's degree and strong communication skills in speaking with parents and students; editing essays, and writing letters of recommendation.

High GPA in your major, excellent employment recommendations, and experience working with students and parents.
