Position Summary The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for

leading, structuring, and operating Virtus Renewables’ Business Development function . This executive role owns the overall growth strategy, department performance, and go‑to‑market execution while ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational capabilities. The VP of Business Development focuses on

building scalable systems, managing teams, and driving disciplined growth , while maintaining executive‑level customer relationships and oversight of major pursuits.

Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute Virtus Renewables’ business development strategy aligned with long‑term corporate goals. Establish clear market focus, service positioning, and growth priorities while translating strategy into measurable objectives and forecasts.

Build, lead, and mentor the Business Development team, defining roles, expectations, and performance standards. Implement training, coaching, and accountability structures to ensure consistent execution and professional development.

Market Analysis & Growth Planning Analyze customer needs, market trends, competitive dynamics, and internal capabilities to guide strategic decision‑making. Identify priority markets, customers, and contract types to drive sustainable expansion.

Client & Partner Engagement Maintain executive‑level relationships with key solar and energy storage developers, owners, and strategic partners. Support the team in cultivating strong customer relationships that align with Virtus Renewables’ value proposition.

Proposal & Deal Oversight Provide executive oversight for major proposals, RFP responses, and negotiations. Ensure commercial, technical, and operational alignment while balancing growth objectives with risk management and profitability.

Process, Systems & Reporting Establish and enforce standardized business development processes, including CRM usage, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure accurate data, predictable outcomes, and transparency for executive leadership.

Cross-Functional Alignment Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to ensure growth plans are executable, scalable, and aligned with delivery capabilities and financial targets.

After-Sales & Long-Term Value Strategy Support the development of after-service and long‑term customer support models with internal teams and external partners to strengthen customer retention and lifecycle value.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).

12+ years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or services-based organizations, with significant leadership responsibility.

Demonstrated experience building and leading a business development or commercial organization.

Strong understanding of customer procurement processes, contracting strategies, and proposal management.

Proven financial acumen, including forecasting, margin analysis, and strategic growth planning.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Strategic mindset with the ability to balance growth ambitions with operational execution.

Willingness to travel, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 30%.
