Hybrid : The University of Miami Health System, “UHealth”, IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full‑Time IT Portfolio Manager to work in Miami.
Job Summary: The IT Portfolio Manager oversees and administers one or more programs and corresponding projects within the project portfolio and works closely with IT PMO Leadership – meeting regularly with the Executive Director of the PMO and assisting with the IT department’s governance. The Portfolio Manager interacts with IT leadership to identify potential projects that best align to the strategic priorities of the organization, balances capacity against demand, and connects plans and resources to project execution.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and implement best practices, processes, and toolsets for effective portfolio/project management, and educate staff on best practices and effective project execution.
Manage and leverage the life cycle of a wide range of cross‑departmental initiatives, investments, programs, projects, and outcomes to achieve enterprise goals and objectives optimally.
Recalibrate the portfolio when business demands change the delivery or scope of work.
Collaborate with Project Intake Team to review new requests, assess project priority, and recommend go/no‑go to Executive Steering Committee.
Coordinate with Enterprise PMO on management of large, strategic initiatives.
Provide a comprehensive overview of capital and operational projects to leadership, department directors, and project sponsors, including anticipated budget.
Partner with the PMO on project requests, processes, and procedures through completion of projects, including those managed by PMO/PMs.
Oversee program and project managers within the portfolio, ensure initiatives adhere to standards and good practice, and facilitate regular portfolio performance review presentations for Executive Steering Committee.
Manage all aspects of change control and risk oversight.
Develop an overall understanding of each initiative to grasp potential customer impact and service requirements.
Adhere to University and unit‑level policies, procedures, and safeguard University assets.

Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Operational Management: Optimize day‑to‑day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Organizational Development: Implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.
Team Leadership: Create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships, and collaborate with others.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
