What You Will Be Doing The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting an Information Officer 1 located in Anchorage. In this full‑time, permanent role you will work closely with the Information Officer 2 to support daily operations and serve as a key point of contact for the public. Your responsibilities include maintaining the flow of commercial fisheries information, providing essential administrative support to regional and field staff, coordinating Yukon River Panel meetings, and offering staff support during the Board of Fisheries process. You will also assist in outreach events and travel to high‑season locations and during the Yukon Panel cycle.

Working Environment Daily work involves communicating with commercial fishing permit holders, processors, the public, and Fish and Game regional and area staff. You will work closely with your supervisor and staff from other state agencies to provide guidance to permit holders. Occasional travel to other state offices and travel during the Yukon Panel cycle are expected.

A valid driver’s license.
State of Alaska Limited Governmental Notary certification.
First aid/CPR certification (provided at no cost).
Required Documents
Copies of all college transcripts (unofficial acceptable) if used to meet the minimum qualification.
Writing sample demonstrating clear and respectful communication with the public.
List of three professional references, including telephone numbers; at least one must be from a current or former supervisor.
Education To verify education used to meet the minimum qualifications, all educational credentials must be submitted and verified. If a foreign education has been completed, evidence of equivalency must be provided.
Work Experience Any work experience not documented in your application must include the employer’s name, your job title, dates of employment, and status (full‑time or part‑time).
