Assistant Store Manager , you are passionate about providing the
best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement . You act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, motivating a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals, supporting an in‑store culture where customers say “I’ll take it” and remain loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. What You’ll Be Doing
Inspire the Customer Connection: You’ll inspire associates with integrity and drive, fostering a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both. To help your team be their best, you infuse coaching moments for the selling behaviors behind our Customer Connection.
Champion Talent Discovery: You’ll be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking out and networking with exceptional external talent. Collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire individuals passionate about creating top‑notch customer experiences driven by attentiveness to service and determination to sell.
Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: You’ll know retail operational fundamentals and ensure the store runs smoothly. From pricing to shipping, processing and inventory, you keep daily operations dialed in, supporting staffing levels set by the Store Manager for peak days and seasonal hiring needs.
Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Taking accountability for your goals and their impact on the location’s overall performance, you drive sales with purpose and determination to achieve goals. In partnership with the Store Manager, you apply insights and observations to continually improve results.
Be a Culture Builder: You’ll support a work and team environment where diversity and inclusivity are valued. Maintain and encourage a positive and proactive mindset, leading by example and uplifting others, increasing retention and performance.
Be the Store Manager’s Right Hand: When the Store Manager is away, you step in, refining your people leadership and store management skills. You maintain high standards, ensure policy compliance, train, develop, and conduct inspections, and collaborate with the Store Manager to develop internal talent.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
High School Diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with associates at all levels.
Ability to train, coach, and develop associates for engaging customer experience and operational tasks.
Independent judgment and discretion in partnership with the Store Sales Manager.
Strong cognitive skills: problem solving, analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
Advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
Flexibility to work a schedule that includes holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements And/or Environment
Regularly lift up to 40 lbs from floor level to above shoulder height with appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
Meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
At least 1+ year of Sales Experience required, preferably retail sales.
Advanced understanding of general retail practices and procedures.
Experience as a team leader, motivating and communicating effectively with associates to achieve goals.
Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training teams to nurture talent.
Mentoring and training associates on selling techniques and operational processes.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
