We’re looking for a
RAN Engineer (Software Testing & Verification Engineer)
to join our team in
Redmond, WA .
Role Description The candidate will be required to work onsite at a customer lab. This role has a 6-month duration with a possibility of extension.
Role Overview The RAN Engineer will design, develop, and implement automated test cases and frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of telecom products and services. The role focuses heavily on Robot Framework, Python, and Perl, with strong exposure to 4G/5G and telecom systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test suites using Robot Framework and Python
Enhance and evolve automation frameworks to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability
Apply telecom domain knowledge to build realistic and effective test scenarios
Execute automated tests, analyze results, identify defects, and produce detailed test reports
Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts and systems under test
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support agile development
Create and maintain documentation for test cases, frameworks, and testing processes
Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to define test strategies and ensure coverage
Required Skills & Experience
Automation & Scripting
Robot Framework: Keyword development, test suites, and libraries
Python: Strong scripting for test automation, utilities, and data generation
Perl: Scripting for environment setup, data manipulation, and legacy telecom systems
Telecom Expertise
Solid understanding of 5G, LTE, IP networking, and related telecom protocols
Test Automation
Strong knowledge of automation methodologies, best practices, and design patterns
Operating Systems
Hands‑on experience with Linux/Unix environments
Analytical Skills
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional languages such as Bash, Java, or Go
Exposure to performance, security, or reliability testing automation
Experience with 4G/5G UE log analysis
