The Team Our Governments & Communities focus on infrastructure needs of municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital infrastructure solutions for government and federal agencies. The Industrial Water solution delivers lifecycle water, wastewater and stormwater projects to heavy commercial and industrial clients, balancing water sustainability, resilience, regulatory compliance and community relations.
Responsibilities
Lead business development: marketing, strategy, prospect identification, proposal development and client presentations; manage project budgeting and contracting.
Direct project management: interact with clients, promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities; support overall market business plans and strategies.
Oversee project execution: supervise engineering managers, set performance goals, manage budgets, invoicing and payments; lead performance reviews.
Staff management: develop, mentor and coach team members; recommend training, promotions and new hires.
Act as project manager and oversee project team.
Preferred Qualifications
20+ years of water/wastewater experience with leadership in the industrial sector.
Professional Engineering license and bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening and vehicle records search.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office and construction environments, extreme weather, high noise levels, electrical hazards, working on scaffolding, exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions with fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases. Tasks include prolonged periods of standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 40 pounds and operating computer equipment.
