Outpatient Facility Emergency Department Coding – Full Time (TEMP to possible permanent)
We are currently recruiting for a remote AHIMA or AAPC-credentialed ED facility medical coding specialist with at least 3 years’ experience in addition to any formal training. Responsibilities
Responsible for coding all diseases in ED according to ICD-10-CM, UHDDS, and AMA’s CPT-4 following client specifications (no injection/infusion required).
Keep current on all GeBBS and client coding policies and procedures and ensure all procedure changes and additions are understood.
Discuss any unclear information requiring clarification with supervisor and/or data quality specialist.
Work with 3M Encoder and EPIC EMR system.
Maintain a production minimum of 12 CPH.
Keep abreast of regulatory changes and communicate these changes to the coding supervisor.
Requirements
AHIMA, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentials required.
Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency Department coding experience.
Principles of ICD-10 outpatient coding.
Maintain accuracy of diagnosis code assignment per client and GeBBS policies.
Maintain productivity levels per client and GeBBS policies.
Maintain reports and their integrity by ensuring all data is entered and recorded as directed by supervisor and director.
Communicate responsibly according to GeBBS policies.
Working hours will be between 6 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday–Friday only (40 hours total).
Full‑time temp position expected to run through March 2026 with possibility of becoming permanent.
