What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Defend lawsuits filed in Florida courts against insureds and represent the employer in subrogation, Uninsured Motorist, and Underinsured Motorist lawsuits
Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable
What is Required (Qualifications):
2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, or personal injury
Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
Admission to the Florida Bar REQUIRED
Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida and meet mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to document files clearly and concisely
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in civil litigation and insurance defense-related litigation
Ability to communicate professionally in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
