Associate Director, Novartis Patient Assistance Foundation As a leader in serving patients, Novartis Patient Assistance Foundation (NPAF) Inc. is a key resource for patients who may not be able to afford their Novartis medication. This role will oversee the overall analytics support required to effectively operate the foundation operations. The Associate Director, NPAF Analytics is a key role, reporting to the Executive Director, NPAF, responsible for overseeing reporting, analysis, and impact of the Novartis Patient Assistance Foundation. This individual must possess strong communication skills to create and present results of complex analyses in a clear and actionable manner.
Responsibilities
Strong understanding of Patient Assistance Program (PAP) journey, payer and policy landscape.
Collaborate with others on the team to establish operational metrics, KPIs and useful statistics, identify trends and oversee the production of operations dashboard that provides visibility into performance.
Collaborate with vendor data teams to develop and refine dashboards, perform ad-hoc analysis and manage data quality standards.
Perform monthly, year-to-date and full-year product inventory forecasting and variance analysis.
Perform workforce forecasting and optimization.
Manage NPAF operating budget and actuals – identify, monitor and explain variances.
Create and manage POs; perform monthly accruals and invoice reconciliations.
Compile data needed for PAP annual reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Complete ad hoc data requests accurately and in a timely manner.
Lead weekly data vendor dashboard review sessions with Novartis and vendor teams – identify trends and data anomalies.
Support decision making via a disciplined, hypothesis-driven approach and shape the findings into leadership presentations highlighting key actions.
Support operational effectiveness by creating root-cause analysis into programs and summarizing recommendations for NPAF leadership.
Collaborate with other functional groups at Novartis for data requests.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MS in Data Science/Analytics).
3+ years related experience in data analytics, financial planning, or quantitative analysis in the commercial pharmaceutical industry.
Possess understanding of patient support hubs or other operational activities.
Ability to connect and coordinate activities across functional groups in Novartis, have strong influencing capability and be proactive in driving results.
High level of comfort navigating/managing large data sets and drawing out key insights.
Strong written and oral presentation skills, including comfort delivering presentations to the Leadership Team.
Demonstrated expertise with data analytics, forecasting and business acumen.
Ability to multitask in a demanding workplace while managing pressure, deadlines and conflicting and shifting priorities.
Preferred Experience
3+ years of progressive growth in patient services, patient assistance programs.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience in workforce management and optimization.
Advanced Excel skills and other data analytic tools.
Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or comparable visualization tool.
