Senior Buyer, Procurement – Marketing Services
Driving strategic sourcing and procurement for marketing services within CME Group’s Marketing and Communications organization. In this role, you will shape sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and deliver value‑driven outcomes that align with marketing goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for marketing partners.
Lead end‑to‑end procurement: market analysis, needs assessment, RFP creation, and supplier selection.
Negotiate high‑value agency contracts focusing on IP rights, indemnification, and performance guarantees.
Conduct financial analysis of proposals, rates, and costs; provide transparent spend recommendations.
Drive cost savings through competitive bidding, process efficiencies, and negotiated fee structures.
Track supplier performance against KPIs (quality, cost, compliance, innovation) and drive continuous improvement.
Handle dispute resolution and contract compliance issues.
Collaborate with Marketing, Legal, and Finance to align procurement with business objectives.
Manage payment exceptions for urgent, high‑profile suppliers.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
At least 3 years in strategic sourcing, procurement or related commercial roles.
Proven experience sourcing marketing services (media buying, creative agencies, market research, MarTech).
Required Skills
Deep knowledge of agency compensation models and contract law.
Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical mindset for data‑driven decision making.
Technology proficiency (SAP Ariba, Coupa; Google Ads, DSPs).
Stakeholder collaboration across marketing, legal, finance.
Attention to detail in contracts, purchase orders, and financial reports.
