Summary Description Botanical Designs is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and a proactive team member in a rapidly changing and growing organization. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the accounting and financial operations of our organization, with a particular focus on the company’s financial procedures, records and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Complete month end journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as assigned

Prepare Bank Reconciliations for month end process

Source system reconciliations of revenues and COGS

Maintain Fixed Asset Schedules and record depreciation

Month End financial trend analysis and reviews

Provide support to AP supervisor on coding and reconciliations

Support AR department with reporting and help manage aging

Assist and comply with external auditing and reporting requirements, preparing necessary PBC documentation

Other duties as assigned

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.

Documentation of standard operating procedures.

Other

Cross training with other functional areas within the finance team as necessary.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Deep understanding of GAAP.

Preparing statements, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, identifying discrepancies.

Is aware of and actively supports the achievement of departmental goals.

Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and ERP systems.

Interpreting data, spotting trends, and providing actionable insights.

Proactive and innovative team player, strong follow-through, quick decision-making abilities and able to problem-solve and thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, growth-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Overseeing accounting operations.

Ensuring compliance.

Providing strategic financial insights

Professional mannerisms, appearance and actions (self-confident and committed to high ethics).

Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage change effectively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, supervisors and co-workers.

Ability to clearly explain financial matters to vendors and employees.

Level Requirements

Minimum of five (5) year(s) of accounting

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. Combination of education and experience may be considered for equivalency.

Proficient in ERP and knowledge of accounting principles/GAAP.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Other MS Office applications

Varied Field Environment performing outdoor work with moderate to occasional loud noise.
