Position Summary
The Merger and Acquistion Analyst is a key member of Pennant’s Growth team, responsible for project management, diligence, and regulatory filings associated with acquisitions, startups of new ventures, and other expansions of Pennant’s operations. This role supports the entire acquisition and start‑up processes, from initial prospecting and due diligence through closing, and integration of the new business.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Lead end‑to‑end project management for acquisitions and start‑ups, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation. Develop and execute strategies to track and report on acquisition and start‑up projects. Once a transaction is under contract, manage workstreams to get acquisitions across the finish line. Conduct post‑project reviews to identify lessons learned and optimize future processes.
Due Diligence: Coordinate and manage a cross‑functional workstream of thorough financial, operational, and legal due diligence to assess the value, risks, and strategic fit of potential acquisitions and start‑ups. Liaise between diligence team members, the Vice President of Acquisitions, and the seller to ensure regular and clear communication during the diligence process.
Regulatory Filings: Lead the drafting and filing of applications for Certificates of Need in states where they are required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong willingness and desire to own and be accountable for company growth
Ability to coordinate complex projects
Excellent communication and decision‑making abilities
Experience in mergers and acquisitions; project management preferred
Strong analytical and project management skills
Bachelor’s degree
Proficiency in using company databases and preparing sheets and reports (Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel)
PMP or similar certification preferred
