Clinic Registered Nurse Senior RN Chemo Infusion Focus
Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse plays a critical role in delivering safe, high quality chemotherapy and infusion care to oncology patients. This position is essential to ensuring patients receive precise, compassionate, and compliant infusion treatment while adhering to national standards, oncology regulations, and company guidelines. The RN demonstrates strong clinical expertise across diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, middle aged, and elderly patients, while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support the full continuum of cancer care. This role may support both the clinic and infusion suites, with a strong emphasis on chemotherapy infusion safety, monitoring, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver and manage chemotherapy and other infusion therapies in accordance with established oncology protocols and safety standards • Monitor patients before, during, and after chemo infusions to identify and respond to adverse reactions or complications • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, current condition, and treatment readiness • Provide detailed patient and family education related to chemotherapy, infusion expectations, side effects, and symptom management • Offer emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families throughout the treatment process • Coordinate and promote continuity of care across clinic and infusion services • Facilitate clinical operations to ensure efficient and safe patient flow • Triage and respond to patient calls related to symptoms, treatment concerns, and medication needs with thorough documentation • Manage medication refill requests and ensure accurate charting • Schedule and coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, consultations, and follow up appointments • Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes • Assist patients in accessing community and supportive care resources • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to LPNs, LVNs, and medical assistants
Required Experience and Qualifications • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program with BSN preferred • Minimum of one year of oncology nursing experience required • Minimum of one year of infusion experience required with strong preference for chemotherapy infusion • Minimum of two years of overall nursing experience • Active RN license with current state registration • Current Basic Life Support certification
Pay Rate: $37.00 hourly
