The Pike School, an independent elementary school in Andover, MA, serves approximately 415 students in grades pre-kindergarten through nine. The School is seeking a Student Life Assistant to support the Upper School (grades 5-9). The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills and enjoy maintaining a positive, visible presence among middle school students. Core Responsibilities: Supervision of students during non-instructional times, specifically fulfilling scheduled Recess Duty and Lunch Duty assignments to ensure a safe, orderly, and positive environment. Serve as a visible, positive, and informal connection point for students, proactively referring any concerns (academic, social, emotional) to the appropriate faculty or administrator. Prepare materials for the Upper School Head and Support Team Leaders, including drafting slide decks and documents for planning and execution of Advisory, Assemblies, and other Upper School programming. Supporting Team Leaders, School Counselor, and Upper School Head in support of the student learning experience. Desired Qualities and Qualifications: Experience with and passion for working with children in grades 5 through grade 9 High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to organizational dynamics; exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desire to work in a dynamic independent school as a team player, eagerly assuming many roles, and devoting the time required to model excellence in job performance.
