The Data Strategy Senior Director plays a pivotal role in shaping an organization's approach to data management and utilization. This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive data strategies that drive business decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and foster innovation. By collaborating with cross‑functional teams, the Senior Director, Data Strategy ensures that data governance, analytics, and reporting frameworks are aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
The Data Strategy Senior Director oversees the entire lifecycle of data within the organization, from collection and storage to analysis and reporting. They work closely with IT and Business Groups to design robust data governance processes and data architectures that support scalable growth and adaptability and enhance data quality. Additionally, the Data Strategy Senior Director identifies opportunities to leverage data for improving business processes and enhancing customer experiences. They stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously refine data management practices and maintain compliance with relevant regulations. Defines the strategy for the implementation of key technology systems that build internal capacity to modernize data assets and infrastructure.
Develops and implements comprehensive data strategies aligned with organizational goals. Promotes accessibility and comprehensibility of data across all levels of the organization.
Oversee data governance initiatives to simplify access and ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance. Harness robust data integration strategies, enhancing data reliability and creating an organizational culture that values data‑driven insights.
Collaborates with IT and business units to optimize data architecture and infrastructure and provide unified views of an organization’s data landscape by consolidating diverse data sources from disparate systems into a cohesive framework. This panoramic view is essential for identifying connections and causations that might be missed in siloed data sets.
Identify opportunities to leverage data for improving business processes and customer experience. Partner with Business Groups to enhance the Authority’s ability to use predictive analytics to transition from a reactive to proactive organization.
Stays current with industry trends and emerging data management technologies. Ensures scalability allowing for expansion of data capabilities avoiding need for constant overhauls or replacements.
Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure that data governance, analytics, and reporting frameworks are aligned with the Authority’s strategic objectives.
Establish and lead data stewardship programs, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and adoption of governance practices between IT and business functions.
Provides leadership and mentorship to foster a culture of data‑driven decision‑making. Communicate data strategies and insights to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Work closely with other agencies to share best practices and, where possible, align strategies and technologies to enable better data management across the Commonwealth.
Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Ten (10) years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field.
Seven (7) years of supervisory, managerial, and/or leadership experience.
Strong understanding of data governance, data architecture, and analytics tools and technologies.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful data strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Experience in managing cross‑functional teams and projects.
Demonstrated history of high achievement in data strategy and management.
Results‑driven approach to lead multiple complex projects to timely, successful, and desired conclusion with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the position requires interaction with all levels of internal staff and the ability to encourage diverse views.
Intellectual curiosity to stay current with industry trends related to data management technologies such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data governance tools.
Demonstrated ability to implement creative ways to engage and communicate with various audiences.
