About the Role At Uber, we are determined to become a zero-emissions, zero-waste platform. We have already committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2040. By 2030, we will achieve zero emissions in all major U.S., Canadian, and European cities, and 100% of Uber Eats orders will be delivered using reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging options globally. More detail on our commitments and plan can be found here.

This role is a unique opportunity to lead Uber's electric vehicle (EV) charging strategy in support of our drivers, couriers, riders, and partners. You will work across highly cross-functional teams and with external experts as we build an EV charging approach that is convenient, cost-effective, and clean‑while supporting our zero‑emissions ambitions and scaling a durable global business.

What You Will Do

Build and own Uber's consolidated global approach to EV charging, in close partnership with regional and local teams

Propose and drive executive buy‑in for charging strategies, business cases, and partnership models

Execute on EV charging initiatives that support Uber's Sustainability goals across both Mobility and Delivery

Develop and lead commercial and business development strategies with key ecosystem partners

Help shape the product vision and roadmap for the charging experience on Uber, translating driver pain points into frictionless features and programs

Define and execute go‑to‑market and commercialization plans for new charging products and partnerships, from pilot through scaled global rollout

Act as an entrepreneurial builder‑testing, iterating, and scaling new ideas with agility, scrappiness, and a strong bias to action

Partner with internal teams across Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Policy, Communications, and Design to ensure cohesive cross‑functional execution

Partner with external experts, businesses, and industry groups, as needed

Coordinate with AV partners, as needed, to support charging solutions for autonomous fleets

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience in related roles such as EV charging, mobility platforms, sustainability, energy, or technology‑enabled services

Significant experience in the EV ecosystem, ideally with direct exposure to EV charging products, services, or platforms, including customer‑facing applications and back‑end software systems

Demonstrated entrepreneurial experience building or scaling new products or businesses from 0→1 through product‑market fit and growth

Deep understanding of EV customer experiences and pain points, and familiarity with the platforms and tools that support them

Strong financial acumen, including comfort with P&L, unit economics, and investment/return tradeoffs

Multi‑year experience managing or owning commercial outcomes in a charging, mobility, or analogous business (e.g., pricing structures, service requirements, commercial performance)

Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and manage multiple custom business partnerships from initial development through ongoing relationship management and issue resolution

Exceptional people skills and executive presence, with a strong track record of cross‑functional collaboration and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority

High‑integrity, low‑ego team player who cares deeply about doing the right thing and contributing to a healthy, inclusive team culture

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EV charging ecosystems across multiple, diverse global geographies

Comprehensive knowledge of the EV charging value stream—from operators and customers to platform providers and utilities

Understanding of key interoperability frameworks and industry standards (e.g., OCPI, OCPP)

Experience leading software integration projects between external partners and internal platforms

Familiarity with new or alternative charging technologies
