Assistant Director of Student Engagement, School of Law, Academic Engagement Boston University School of Law seeks an experienced student activities professional to join our Student Affairs Office. This full‑time role is based in Boston, MA and supports over 50 student organizations with budgets ranging from $500–$200,000.

Responsibilities

Engage and support student leaders through direct oversight, advising, and program development.

Administer budgets and revise operational policies to enhance equity and inclusiveness.

Plan and manage events, including training, leadership transitions, and community‑building activities.

Develop and implement the school's student engagement system and related technologies.

Contribute to broader equity and inclusion initiatives within the law school.

Maintain clear, consistent communication with student organizations and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years full‑time experience in student activities, or an advanced degree in higher education, law, or related field plus 1 year of experience.

Direct experience working with student leaders or student activities.

Proficiency in program planning, operations, event management, budgeting, and trainee facilitation.

Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.

Experience with student engagement platforms, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and WordPress.

Commitment to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and technologies.

Understanding of the relationship between student leadership and equity in legal education.

Exposure to the legal profession.

Other Information Position Type: Full‑time/Regular • Salary Grade 46 • Location: Boston, MA, United States. The salary range is $58,000–$68,000 based on qualifications and internal pay comparison. This is a largely in‑person role with the possibility of flexible arrangements.
