Principal System Safety Engineer to join us on the Air and Space team in Aurora Colorado.

As a

Principal System Safety Engineer

, your responsibilities will include: Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance. Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place. Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including: Monitoring program technical execution, Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position. System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. ~ This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
