Salary: $80K to $135K, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits, along with comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
LHH is partnering with a leading law firm in San Francisco to find an experienced Legal Secretary with a strong background in bankruptcy litigation. This role supports attorneys handling complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 matters and is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with at least 5 years of experience in bankruptcy litigation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain case files for Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy matters
- Manage docketing and calendaring for hearings, deadlines, and filings in federal bankruptcy courts
- Organize pleadings, motions, and supporting exhibits for litigation teams
- Prepare and file petitions, schedules, and statements of financial affairs via CM/ECF
- Ensure compliance with local bankruptcy court rules and procedures
- Manage electronic filing of adversary proceedings and related motions
- Draft correspondence to clients, trustees, and opposing counsel
- Schedule depositions, creditor meetings, and hearings
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit binders and witness lists
- Review and organize discovery documents for bankruptcy litigation
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial records
- Manage large volumes of creditor claims and proofs of claim
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of bankruptcy litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of federal bankruptcy court rules and CM/ECF filing procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and document management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage complex calendars and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a proactive mindset
