This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Physical Therapist to step into a prevention-focused, non-clinical role within a large on-site employer environment. Rather than traditional outpatient rehabilitation, this position centers on ergonomics, workplace health, and proactive injury prevention .
The Physical Therapist will be fully embedded on-site, collaborating closely with the organization s Employee Health & Safety (EHS) team and an on-site Athletic Trainer. This role is ideal for a seasoned PT seeking to expand into ergonomics, employee wellness, and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
Injury Prevention & Early Intervention
- Engage directly with employees in their work areas to identify and mitigate musculoskeletal risks.
- Conduct frequent walk-throughs to observe job tasks, provide real-time coaching, and build rapport with employees.
- Offer OSHA-compliant first aid for minor work-related musculoskeletal concerns (e.g., conservative soft tissue techniques, kinesiology taping, non-rigid supports, ice/heat education).
Ergonomics & Workplace Assessments
- Perform ergonomic evaluations of work tasks and setups to recommend improved positioning, tools, or adjustments.
- Utilize ergonomic software and tools to build and implement a comprehensive ergonomics program.
- Develop and deliver preventative exercise programs, stretching routines, and educational workshops.
Program Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as the on-site expert for musculoskeletal health and ergonomics.
- Partner with the EHS team and leadership to implement proactive injury prevention strategies.
- Work closely with the on-site Athletic Trainer to coordinate wellness and risk-reduction initiatives.
- Maintain strong visibility in employee work areas to foster trust and encourage early reporting of discomfort.
Post-Offer Pre-Employment Physical Capability Testing
- Develop, refine, and administer physical capability assessments aligned with essential job functions.
- Manage scheduling and documentation in partnership with HR and hiring teams.
- Support high-volume testing periods during major hiring cycles.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Active PT license in the state of New York (or ability to obtain before start).
- Minimum 3 5 years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist
- Current or willingness to obtain BLS certification.
- Willingness to complete ergonomic or OSHA-related training.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently and making real-time assessments.
- Passion for prevention, education, and building programs from the ground up.
- Flexibility to align schedule with various employee work shifts (early morning or later-day coverage).
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: mid-$90,000s to approximately $120,000, depending on experience.
