Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and managing stock levels to ensure optimal availability and minimize waste. You will play a key part in the overall logistics and supply chain operations by ensuring that our inventory data is precise and up-to-date. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems. You will work closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to identify and resolve inventory-related issues. A commitment to safety is essential, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While this role is less physically demanding than some others, occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs may be necessary. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and capable of working independently. Experience with ERP systems and inventory software is highly preferred. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Track inventory movements and ensure proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams on inventory needs.
  • Report on inventory accuracy and shrinkage.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with receiving and shipping as needed for inventory validation.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
  • Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and PPE.
  • Basic math skills for inventory calculations.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
