We are hiring a proactive Shipping & Receiving Associate for our facility in Madison, Wisconsin. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, verifying incoming merchandise, and preparing outgoing orders for dispatch. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, verifying incoming merchandise, and preparing outgoing orders for dispatch. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding high standards of safety and efficiency within our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process all incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify the contents of incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any issues immediately.
- Prepare, label, and stage outgoing shipments for carriers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification may be required).
- Ensure the receiving and shipping docks are kept clean, organized, and secure.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, including the proper use of PPE .
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including significant standing, walking, and Lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with shipping software and WMS is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety procedures.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
