Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Applications Architect III
to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade, cloud-native applications. This senior-level role requires a hands-on architect who can lead application design from concept through implementation while collaborating closely with technical teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in
Java EE, microservices architecture, cloud platforms , and modern application design principles, along with the ability to guide teams and influence architectural direction across complex systems.
Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications. Direct application development efforts from conception through deployment and ongoing optimization. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Design and evolve enterprise-level applications to meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards. Apply modern architectural principles, including microservices and 12-Factor App methodology. Provide hands-on development support while enforcing best practices for maintainability and security. Guide and mentor technical staff and contribute to architectural governance and standards. Ensure solutions align with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
Required Qualifications Experience 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications. Strong hands-on experience with
Java EE ,
Spring Boot , and microservices frameworks. Extensive experience with
cloud platforms
(AWS or Google Cloud). Hands-on experience with
containerization technologies
(Docker, Kubernetes). Proven expertise in
API design and integration
(REST, GraphQL). Solid understanding of
CI/CD pipelines , DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible). Experience implementing
security best practices
for cloud-native applications. Strong knowledge of
relational and NoSQL databases
(e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Experience with
event-driven architectures
and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Exposure to
serverless computing
and cloud-native services. Practical experience applying
Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
to model complex business domains.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Knowledge of performance tuning, high availability, and resilience strategies. Understanding of cost optimization strategies in cloud environments. Healthcare or regulated-industry experience. Strong understanding of SDLC, enterprise architecture practices, and IT governance. Consulting and facilitation skills with a customer-focused mindset. Proven leadership skills; proactive, self-starter with strong attention to detail. Cloud certifications such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Azure Solutions Architect Expert Google Professional Cloud Architect Experience supporting state or large public-sector systems (preferred).
