Production Manager - 1st Shift

Location: Indianapolis, IN


Position Overview

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations at its Indianapolis facility. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality production while leading and developing production teams in a fast-paced environment. The Production Manager will partner closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer demand, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are met
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly team members
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules to align with customer requirements and business objectives
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators including safety, quality, scrap, downtime, and throughput
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and waste elimination
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management efforts within production
  • Participate in process improvement, equipment upgrades, and capital planning initiatives


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or senior Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in automotive, plastics, injection molding, or component manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams on the production floor
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and performance metrics
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
