Organization: San Francisco Fire Department – Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) Location: San Francisco, CA (Treasure Island) Volunteer Type: Training / Community Preparedness Role Description: The San Francisco Fire Department Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) is seeking community members interested in emergency preparedness and neighborhood resilience. NERT is a free, community-based training program built on a neighbor‑helping‑neighbor approach. Volunteers participate in hands‑on training to learn the fundamentals of personal preparedness, disaster prevention, and emergency response skills. Training equips participants to safely assist themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods during emergencies and disasters. What You’ll Do

Learn core disaster preparedness and prevention skills Participate in hands‑on emergency response training Build skills to support neighbors and community response efforts Engage with fellow community members committed to public safety Who Should Volunteer

No prior experience required Dates: January 7, 14, and 21 (Wednesdays) Times: 9am–5pm all three days Location: Sherry Williams Community Center, Treasure Island (850 Avenue I) Event Type: Training / Community Event How to Register
