Campus Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI)
Grade Level:
High School (9th–12th); Middle School (6th–8th)
Location:
TBD (Denver, CO; relocation stipend for those >75 miles from Denver)
Salary:
$72,000–$87,000 (based on up to 10 years of aligned experience)
Status:
Full‑time, year‑round, benefits eligible, exempt, in‑person position (Denver, CO)

Key Roles & Responsibilities The Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) leads coaching for teachers on the school site, ensuring academic excellence for all students. Key responsibilities include:
Leading a coaching and management team of 12‑15 teachers (variable by campus and need)
Demonstrating DSST Mission‑Driven urgency to achieve student success and post‑secondary preparation
Seeking solutions with tenacity and motivating staff toward high performance
Coaching and developing staff to achieve excellent academic outcomes
Leading consistent, high‑quality coaching aligned with DSST’s coaching vision
Collaborating with teachers to plan course pacing, unit plans, and lesson materials aligned with college readiness standards and the benchmark assessment program
Facilitating Lesson Internalization Coaching Meetings that refine instructional practice
Observing and evaluating classroom practice weekly using DSST’s Essentials for Effective Teaching Rubric
Tracking coaching sessions, observations, and action steps through DSST’s centralized tools
Maintaining awareness of how course content prepares students for high‑school college‑preparatory programs
Facilitating Practice Clinics and Real‑Time Coaching to accelerate instructional development
Creating, maintaining, and updating whole‑school, grade‑level, and teacher‑level student academic and assessment records
Leading the execution of the school’s assessment program, including testing schedules, staff training, and compliance with district and state requirements
Developing teachers in analysis and action planning based on assessment data
Monitoring overall school data and progress to goals
Managing decisions that arise from data analysis
Developing and executing the Professional Learning vision for the school
Leading professional development that is objective‑aligned, engaging, and grounded in adult learning theory
Identifying and arranging staff development opportunities related to core instructional practices and content areas
Managing professional learning days and staff meetings
Building relationships with teachers and administration to positively impact school culture and results
Co‑managing department chairs for effective departmental outcomes
Recruiting and hiring school faculty and serving as a recruiter for new students
Participating in DSST Home Office initiatives to create network‑wide standards, curriculum, and assessment documents
Contributing to the Instructional Leadership Team and participating in the Instructional Leadership Development program
Teaching course(s) and acting as a student advisor as applicable
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
At least 3 years of 6th‑12th grade teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to coach, manage, and lead adults to successful outcomes
Unwavering belief that all students can succeed, reach ambitious post‑secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
Desire to grow personally and professionally as an anti‑racist educator
Self‑awareness, regular reflective practice, and a commitment to continuous improvement
Ideal Qualifications
