Artificial Intelligence Engineer – Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an

Artificial Intelligence Engineer , based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about applying AI and automation to accelerate innovation, productivity, and operational excellence within a next-generation clean energy company.

The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will lead the design and implementation of AI-driven software tools, automation systems, and intelligent agents that streamline engineering workflows, enhance decision-making, and optimize company-wide efficiency. This individual will work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, regulatory, and business teams to develop and deploy solutions that integrate machine learning, data automation, and natural language processing into Hadron’s daily operations.

You will play a key role in building Hadron’s internal AI ecosystem—developing customized tools that improve collaboration, automate routine processes, and help teams focus on high-value work as the company scales toward commercial reactor deployment and public-company operations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy

AI-driven tools and software agents

to enhance productivity, automate workflows, and support decision-making across teams

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to identify automation opportunities and translate them into scalable AI solutions

Build, train, and integrate

LLM-based and task-specific AI models

into internal systems and knowledge platforms

Develop and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and automation frameworks that connect various tools and departments (e.g., engineering, project management, finance)

Implement intelligent assistants for documentation, task tracking, and data analysis

Prototype and iterate on internal AI products to support engineering design, regulatory documentation, and project scheduling

Monitor AI performance, ensure data quality, and maintain system reliability and compliance

Stay current on emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices; continuously evaluate opportunities for integration within Hadron’s operations

Work closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure safe, ethical, and secure use of AI systems \ Document and present progress, demonstrating clear value and measurable efficiency improvements across the company

Qualifications & Skillsets

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field

5+ years of experience in software development or AI/ML engineering

Experience with

machine learning frameworks

such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

Familiarity with

LLMs, generative AI tools, and agentic frameworks

(LangChain, OpenAI API, Anthropic, etc.)

Proven ability to build and deploy

automation workflows

using APIs, webhooks, and integration tools (Zapier, Make, or custom pipelines)

Understanding of

data engineering, API design, and systems integration

Experience developing productivity or workflow automation tools for cross-functional organizations

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsStrong sense of initiative, adaptability, and curiosity about applying AI in real-world industrial and technical settings
