Senior Consultant – Freight and Logistics
WSP is seeking an experienced Freight and Logistics Senior Consultant to join its Advisory Services Team in multiple U.S. markets. The role offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact public and private sector projects, applying advanced economic, statistical, and data‑science expertise to freight infrastructure planning and policy.
Responsibilities
Lead complex qualitative and quantitative analysis and research on freight infrastructure, strategies, and policies.
Conduct primary and secondary research and technical analysis of multimodal freight plans, market studies, and grant support.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across service areas and business lines to deliver actionable recommendations to clients.
Present findings to public agencies, industry leaders, and internal stakeholders through conferences, workshops, and published research.
Contribute to marketing and business development efforts and support thought‑leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
5–7 years of relevant professional experience, including federal, state, regional, and/or local freight planning and analysis.
Strong background in data science, programming, and modeling with large freight datasets (GPS, travel times, commodity flows, international trade, etc.).
Proficiency in GIS, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBi, and other analytical tools, and experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools for planning and analysis tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Demonstrated program/project delivery experience and a record of technical excellence.
Degree in engineering, economics, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, public policy, urban planning, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Compensation varies by location: $86,100 – $150,590.
