Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Hybrid 1 Year Fixed‑Term) Inside Higher Ed

is recruiting an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to join the Precision Neurotherapeutics Laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. The role is full‑time, fixed‑term (one year), and hybrid: primarily on the Stanford main campus with optional telecommuting based on operational needs.

Overview The Laboratory is developing personalized trans‑cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatments for depression. We have identified an EEG biomarker that predicts TMS outcome and are using machine learning to maximize its efficacy. The candidate will support NIH‑funded research projects, collaborate with clinicians, engineers, and statisticians, and contribute to data‑collection, data‑management, and publication efforts.

Responsibilities

Assist in regulatory document preparation for the study.

Screen, recruit, and obtain consent from study participants according to protocol.

Contact and schedule participants; serve as primary contact from study start‑up to close‑out.

Collect MRI, TMS, EEG, and other psychophysiological data for clinical research projects.

Maintain patient and laboratory data in REDCap.

Help design and implement software for real‑time EEG monitoring and closed‑loop brain stimulation.

Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and study documents, and complete case report forms.

Contribute to publication of findings; assist with procedures, presentations, and proposals.

Assist with equipment purchasing and general lab maintenance.

Orient and train new staff or students on lab procedures or techniques.

Desired Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills and highly motivated.

Experience working with patient populations.

Programming experience.

Experience with EEG brain recordings.

Ability to work in‑person at Stanford University.

Education & Experience (required) Two‑year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (required) General knowledge of medical terminology.

Certifications & Licenses Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine light/fine grasping.

Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 lb.

Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort, file paperwork or parts, or lift objects heavier than 40 lb.
