Position Summary Under the leadership of the Store Manager and District Director, the Assistant Store Manager will assist with the day‑to‑day operations and management of the store and donation area to ensure efficient and cost‑effective operation through world‑class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Management responsibilities including opening/closing, all day‑to‑day store operations, and management of store employees including recommendations for employee change‑of‑status decisions.

Adhere to the established rotating schedule unless otherwise directed or approved by the District Director.

Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs, including time frames outside of the rotating schedule if needed.

Consistently partake in weekly interviews of external candidates as outlined by the staffing strategy to maintain staffing levels in alignment with budgets.

Ensure completion of the daily management duties as provided by GWH’s leadership team.

Actively participate and complete all required training and development activities.

Manage and influence the team by communicating clear company daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

Accurately complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers/safe.

Partner with the store manager to create and post team member schedules in a timely manner while properly leveraging the HRM system.

Execute GWH’s workflow as designed by training, coaching, and documenting team member performances while assessing production progress on an hourly basis.

Has authority to hire and fire and any suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, or any other change in status of other team members will be given particular weight.

Preparing and administering personnel and disciplinary actions.

Ensures store supplies and bank orders are placed in a timely manner.

Supervise and assist with the training and development of team members.

Help ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow by utilizing proper equipment according to GWH policies and procedures.

Coach by walking around (CBWA) for approximately 80% of the time on duty to ensure team members are meeting minimum expectations.

Accurately operate all store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed (donor counts, production standards, etc.).

Help ensure the timeliness of proper rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH policies and procedures.

Must be punctual and have dependable attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Management experience is preferred.

1‑2 years of retail sales experience is preferred.

Basic computer skills.Good time management and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.

Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment The ability to continuously stand/walk for the duration of a shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift, up to 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product). An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is usually moderate.
