Clinical Research Organization (CRO) | West Coast, USA

We’re partnering with a well-established, privately owned
clinical CRO
that supports biotech and pharma companies with
Phase I–III clinical trials , with a strong focus on oncology and other complex indications.
With over 20 years in operation, this organization is known for long-term sponsor partnerships, scientific rigor, and a collaborative, people-first culture. They are now looking to add an experienced
Business Development leader
to own and grow their
West Coast territory .
The Role This is a senior, individual‑contributor commercial role focused on:
Driving
new business
and developing long‑term sponsor relationships across the West Coast
Selling
Phase I–III clinical trial services
to biotech and pharma companies
Leading the full sales cycle: prospecting, RFPs, proposals, bid defenses, and contract negotiation
Working closely with internal clinical, operational, and proposal teams
Representing the company at industry conferences and sponsor meetings
What They’re Looking For
Proven CRO sales experience , specifically selling
Phase I–III clinical trials
Ideally
7–12 years
in clinical business development (minimum 3+ years required)
Strong
West Coast sponsor network
across biotech and pharma
Experience working with
smaller or mid‑sized CROs
preferred
A consultative, relationship‑driven approach (not transactional)
Stability in career history (no excessive job hopping)
Location & Compensation
Remote , based on the
US West Coast
Competitive base salary typically
$170k–$190k
(flexible for standout profiles)
Highly attractive commission structure with accelerators and long‑term earning potential
